About Platform Administration

The Katalon Platform operates on a hierarchical system designed to streamline project management and collaboration. It is comprised of three levels, which are:

  • Account
  • Organization
  • Project

Account

At the top of the hierarchy is the Account. It serves as a universal control center for all settings and acts as a repository for organizations, projects, and users.

As such, Account Admins have all permissions needed to manage functions outside of direct testing. Learn how you can turn a user into an account admin here.

Each account has its own unique ID. Within the UI, an account number is identified by looking for a prefix of AC.

Organization

In the middle of the hierarchy is the Organization. It serves as a home to manage projects and users more granularly.

As such, Organization Admins have all permissions needed to manage functions that relate to an organization, its contents, its details, and its users. Learn how you can turn a user into an organization admin here.

Project

At the bottom of the hierarchy is the Project. Its functions is to organize and manage members as they work together.
