Record and execution tests on pre-installed apps

TestCloud supports recording and executing mobile test cases on pre-installed (stock) apps such as Chrome, Contacts, or Safari in Katalon Studio.

This feature helps you test device-native apps without needing to upload a custom .apk or .ipa file.

For private devices

If you are testing on a private device in TestCloud:

1. Upload or install your target app using Live Testing. Refer to this guide: Live testing on mobile app.
2. Open that app in the Mobile Recorder for recording and execution.

For public devices

For public TestCloud devices, you need to pass the desired capabilities in Katalon Studio.

1. In Katalon Studio, go to Project > Settings > Desired Capabilities and select TestCloud.
2. In the TestCloud settings table, add suitable desired caps for your device:
