Run manual test cases with datasets
Last updated: November 2026
Use a dataset to run a manual test case with different inputs or expected values. Run with AI runs the test case once per dataset row and records a result for each row.
Watch this walkthrough video and refer to the instructions below.
Create a dataset
- Go to Tests > Datasets in your project and click Create.
- Enter a Name and Description, then click Create.
- Click Add column and Add row, then enter the values in the table.
- Click Save.
To add rows from a CSV file, click Import CSV on the dataset page, map the file columns, preview the rows, and click Import.
Use column values in test steps
In a manual test case step, enter a dataset column name between double angle brackets, such as <<user_name>>. The name must match the column exactly, including case.
Link a dataset to a test case
- Open the manual test case and select the DATA tab.
- Click Select a dataset, choose your dataset, then click Link.
Run a data-bound test case with AI
- On the test case page, click Run with AI.
- In the Run with AI dialog, select an environment and click Run.
- Open the test run's TESTS tab to review the result for each dataset row.
